On Saturday 18, 2014, the brothers of Lambda Phi Epsilon Alpha Tau chapter took part in two service events in the Charlottesville area.
The first event took place in the morning in downtown Charlottesville. This was the fifth year in a row that the brothers of Alpha Tau have volunteered at the Walk for Alzheimer’s. This year, we acted as route guides, holding up signs to direct the walkers. It may have been early, but it was a beautiful day and there were smiles on all our faces as the participants smiled and waved at us. We also got serenaded by the sound of bagpipes as a local group played for the event!
In the afternoon, the brothers of Alpha Tau also co-sponsored Color Me Cured, a race to fight against cancer. Some of us were route guides while others stayed back at the finish line and threw paint onto returning runners! There was a huge turnout and we used a lot of paint, but the end result was definitely worth it!
